Holiday Highlights

Holidays for me means one thing. Shopping! I couldn’t go past the Klara Cosmetics Kiss Proof Lips in #03 Passion Pink. It’s a warm pinky nude matte lipstick, and I really love how it doesn’t smudge, but doesn’t dry out your lips either. Lush is one of my absolute favourite stores, and I recently picked up the hugely popular Comforter Bubble Bar. While it’s more expensive than the other bubble bars, it is also a lot bigger, meaning you get as many as four uses out of it, rather than one or two. I think it’s one of their best bubble bars, with a gorgeous blackcurrant and bergamot scent. I love soaking in the pink tinged water with an abundance of bubbles.

I’m hitting the beach next week, and I really need a good read. I’m bringing the newly released, Empire of Storms by Sarah J Maas. It’s the fifth book in the fantasy theories, Throne of Glass (not including the prequel, The Assassins Blade). I am a huge fan of the series, and a huge fan of Sarah. These books are a really good read for ages 12 and above.

It is now swimwear season! A lot of brands are coming out with their new swimsuits for summer, and my favourite collection so far is the Modern Tribe collection by Seafolly. My favourite one piece is the Modern Tribe Deep “V” Maillot One Piece, and my favourite two piece is the Modern Tribe Action Back Tri Bikini Top and the Modern Tribe Hipster Pant. Another great collection that caught my eye is the Acacia Swimwear Hawai’i Nei, which has some especially great bikini tops.

Must Have Skin Care Products

Hey guys,

As a teenager, everyone knows that skincare is super important. I would love to say I have flawless skin, but like most teens, I’m prone to breakouts. So this is a list of my favourite skincare products that I use all the time. The Bioré Pore Unclogging Scrub is my go-to exfoliater. It isn’t super harsh and doesn’t strip away all your skins natural oils like most cleansers, but you still have to moisturise after, like all cleansers.

My favourite moisturiser at the moment is the Girl Lane Nourishing Face Moisturiser. As a water based moisturiser, it balances out my skin a lot better than oil based moisturisers.

To help keep my skin clear, I use two main products to get rid of pimples. The first is the Ella Baché Crème Intex No. 2. It works like magic, getting rid of blind pimples and white heads super quickly, as it helps to stop pimples from coming up.

Priceline Pharmacy Haul

Hey guys,

Priceline is my go to for drugstore make up. I love how you can get great products at affordable prices. I check it out every week to see the different sales they have on, and the new products they get in. This is a quick review of some of my recent Priceline purchases.

Ari by Ariana Grande Perfume – The Ariana Grande perfume comes in a clear distorted bottle, with a rose gold lid and a white pom pom attached. The scent is sweet, but not overpowering, which I rather like. The description of the perfume is that it’s a very floral fragrance but I personally found that it was more fruity than flowery, which I preferred.

Thin Lizzy 6 in 1 Professional Powder Pack in Dark 1 – This pack comes with a multi-purpose powder, a brush, clear strawberry lip gloss and a double sided eyeliner with a sharpener. The powder I use mostly as a contour, although you can use it as bronzer, eyeshadow and blush. I find it works well as a light shadow underneath the cheekbone. The brush is good for blending powders, especially when contouring. The lip gloss smells amazing, and adds a nice sheen to your lips when applied, but you have to be careful not to apply too much, as the gloss is very sticky. I’m not a huge fan of pencil liner, I prefer liquid liners, but the pencil is very pigmented and easy to blend. I especially like the fact that one side is black and the other is brown and that one of the lids is a sharpener.

Australis Colour Inject Mineral Lipstick in Salsa – This lipstick was moisturising, creamy and really pigmented. I found you could have full coverage in only one coat. There are so many different shades, Salsa is a very vivid coral pink, it’s more of a darker coral, with more orangey red undertones. I really like the Colour Inject lipsticks, and I found this shade very wearable, it’s a very fresh and summery colour.

Nude by Nature Limited Edition Ultimate Brush Collection – This kit comes with a powder brush, a blush brush, a liquid foundation brush, a concealer brush, an eyeliner brush, an eyeshadow brush, an eye blending brush, a brow brush, a lip brush and a brush case. All these brushes a really good quality, really soft and work well, especially for blending. I would like a lip blending brush, as the lip brush is mainly just for applying the product to your lips.

Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm – This lip balm is super moisturising and long lasting. It stops my lips from getting cracked and sore, especially in winter. I always apply lip balm before I put on lipstick or lip gloss, so my lips don’t dry out while they have product on, especially matte lipsticks.

Stila Soul – Eyes Are The Window Shadow Palette Look

Hey guys,

I recently got my hands on the Eyes Are The Window Shadow Palette in Soul, and decided to attempt an eyeshadow look. I’m not a huge fan of complex eye looks, due to my lack of expertise, but I decided to attempt it this time. This was done before I got my Nude By Nature brushes, so I’m hoping to retry the look with the professional brushes in the future. So to start the look, apply the shade Individual lightly over the entire lid with an eyeshadow brush. Then take the same brush and wet it, just with a spray bottle and dip the brush into the shade Character and apply close to the upper and bottom lash lines. Take the colour Being and apply in the crease as well as blending along the upper lash line using an eye blending brush. Lastly apply Essence very lightly in the crease with an eye blending brush for a smokier look. I finished the look by applying the Urban Decay Perversion mascara on the top and bottom lashes,  L’Oreal Paris So Couture Super Liner on my top and bottom lash lines, and filled in my lips with the BYS Cosmetics Lip Liner Pencil in 09 Red, before applying my Thin Lizzy Clear Strawberry Lip Gloss (Found in the Thin Lizzy 6 In 1 Professional Powder Pack in Dark 1).

Winter Is Coming

Hey guys,

It’s finally winter! I’m one of those people that would much rather stay inside during the cold weather with blankets piled on top of me, drinking hot chocolate, and watch a movie. Luckily, in Australia, the weather is tolerable enough for me to leave the house during the colder months. There aren’t many things I like about winter, I’m definitely a summer person, but I do love boots. Winter is pretty much the only time I can wear boots without my feet becoming disgustingly sweaty. Boots are a shoo in for winter, however there are some new winter trends emerging. The first, and my personal favourite, is bomber jackets. Bomber jackets are really versatile, you can pair them with a graphic tee and jeans, or with a really cute dress. They combine street wear and a tomboy vibe, with you still being able to dress it up. These jackets come in so many different styles, you can find neutral colours, florals or a pop of bright colour. Another winter trend is pink. Don’t worry, I’m not suggesting bright hot pink tops. The colours trending right now are blushing pinks, rose golds and pastely pinks. These colours seem to be the biggest colour in the fashion world right now. Felt hats. I love them. Coming in so many colours, from baby blue to burgandy, they are great for winter. Wear it with ‘effortless’ windswept hair (another winter trend) and it looks amazing. Dark lips, silver eyes and dewy highlighting. Make up this season is all about non-touring. The new trend coined by Kim Kardashian, is all about light, soft make up and highlighting where the light naturally hits your face, it’s a more natural look compared to the heavy style of contouring and strobing. Dark lips are huge in winter, whether it’s heavy black matte or plum liquid lipstick. It adds an edgy look to your appearance, with lighter options to take the the boldness down a notch. Silvery eyes, whether it’s silver highlighter in the corner of the eyes, or a silver metallic eyeliner, this eye catching trend is a winter must have.

Road Testing Australis AC On Tour Cream Contour

Hey guys,

This is my first blog post, and I’m going to be reviewing the AC On Tour Cream Contouring Kit from Austalis. This kit only comes in light complexion at the moment, which I found fine, even though I have olive skin, but I did have to use the darkest shade to contour. This was my first time contouring, and I found the instructions that came with the kit pretty easy to follow, although in the pictures, it was hard to see where you were supposed to highlight.I applied the creams with a foundation brush and blended it in with a damp beauty blender. You have to be careful not to put too much on, as the creams have very warm tones, and putting too much of certain colors on makes you look like you have a fake tan. I wouldn’t use this product if you have fair skin, as the contouring colors will be really hard to blend in, and leave you with dark patches. I was pretty happy with the end product, the cheekbone contouring wasn’t really visible, because in the effort to tone it down, I may have rubbed some of it off, but the nose contour worked well. The kit is available at Priceline Pharmacy for $24.95.
